专利说明:

In general terms, the invention relates to a boot lid for a motor vehicle. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising a boot lid of the aforementioned nature.
From the prior art, document US4822098 is known which proposes a boot lid for a motor vehicle. This boot lid comprises an outer member, a rear window and an inner member that partially covers the outer member. The outer member consists of an upper part that defines a rear window opening and a lower part that extends the upper part towards the lower part of the boot lid. The rear window glass is arranged on a complementary surface of the outer member. The outer and inner members cooperate to form a hollow, closed-section frame that surrounds the rear window glass. At the bottom of the boot lid, the outer member cooperates with the inner member to form a hollow box. A disadvantage of such a suitcase cover is that it may have insufficient stiffness. In addition, the outer member may not be satisfactory from an aesthetic point of view, considering that the process of molding a piece of the said nature of polymeric material can present uncomfortable aesthetic defects these days.
Also known is document EP1120303 which proposes a boot lid for a motor vehicle comprising a structural reinforcement, a rear window and an interior lining (not shown). The structural reinforcement consists of an upper part that defines a rear window opening and a lower part that extends the upper part towards the lower part of the boot lid. The cover also includes a series of functional equipment such as hinges, locks, rear windshield wiper motor, window frame or registration plate. In this document, the structural reinforcement is also used as a body part for the exterior and as a support strip (sealing strip) for the interior. A disadvantage of this boot lid is that the respective stiffness is not satisfactory so that it is preferable to have additional metal reinforcements, usually in steel, to fix said functional equipment. This solution also has the disadvantage of a high overall mass for the boot lid, mainly due to the presence of metallic reinforcements. In addition, the multiplicity of elements that form the structural set, namely, the set dedicated to the resumption of efforts and the search for the necessary rigidity for the cover, implies a complex and expensive assembly.
To at least partially remedy these disadvantages, the present invention aims at a car boot lid, comprising a structural reinforcement, an interior lining and a rear window; the structural reinforcement consists of an upper part that defines a rear window opening and a lower part that extends the upper part towards the lower part of the boot lid. In accordance with the present invention, the structural reinforcement is carried out from a single piece of polymeric material and is covered on the outer side by a set consisting of at least the rear window and an outer decorative panel arranged under the rear window, in order to completely cover the structural reinforcement; furthermore, the structural reinforcement is also completely covered on the respective inner side by the inner lining, the structural reinforcement and the inner lining cooperating to form a first hollow frame, of a first closed section, which involves opening the rear window and to it had formed a second peripheral hollow frame, of a second closed section, which is located near the outer edges of the boot lid.
The invention therefore presents a combination of a structural reinforcement and an inner lining that together form a rigid structure adapted for the use of polymeric materials (and more particularly to the thermoplastic material that remains light even in the reinforced state) and in such a way that it is no longer necessary to resort to metal reinforcements as known in the prior art. This has advantages in terms of simplifying the assembly of the various elements of the cover, due to the decrease in the number of said elements. In addition, this specific configuration has advantages in terms of mass and costs and further extends the possibilities of recycling in the event that a thermoplastic material is used to manufacture the structural reinforcement and / or the interior lining. Another advantage is that a lid of the aforementioned nature, seen from the outside of the vehicle, has an aesthetic aspect equivalent to that of a boot lid made of sheet metal.
Finally, in relation to the solutions of the prior art that integrate the metallic reinforcements mentioned above, the structural reinforcement of polymeric material allows to increase the inertia in the working sections and offers the possibility of presenting a window frame, also called glue strip. window, continuous along the entire contour.
In the case of the boot lid according to the invention, this structural reinforcement can have a geometry so as to have a periphery substantially identical to the periphery of this boot lid. In other words, the geometry of the structural reinforcement of a single piece, made of polymeric material, has a geometry substantially identical to that of the cover.
Preferably, the upper part of the structural reinforcement comprises side structures in one part and the other part of the rear window opening and / or an upper structure disposed below the rear window opening; and the structural reinforcement and the inner lining can cooperate to form a first and a second hollow frame of a first and a second closed section, the sections being confused at the level of the lateral structures and / or at the level of the upper structure of the opening rear window.
Preferably, said closed sections comprise a hollow-shaped part (referred to as a "hollow body") that belongs to the structural reinforcement, the hollow space of which is oriented towards the inside of the vehicle and is extended from a connection zone on each side of the hollow shape and on the other hand, a part of the inner lining, which closes the hollow part of the reinforcement by fixing it at the level of the connection areas.
On the other hand, the present invention also aims at a motor vehicle comprising a boot lid of said nature as described above.
The other advantages and features of the present invention are explained in more detail in the detailed, non-limiting description below.
The description is made on the basis of the attached figures in which: - figure 1 represents a perspective view of a car boot lid, on the outside of the vehicle; figure 2 represents a perspective view of the structural reinforcement of the boot lid, from the inside of the vehicle; figure 3 represents a perspective view of the interior lining, from the inside of the vehicle; figure 4 is a perspective view showing a step in the boot lid assembly process shown in figure 1, on the outside of the vehicle; figure 5 represents a sectional view according to the plane P5 of figure 1, with P5 being a substantially horizontal plane that passes through an exterior decorative panel arranged under the boot lid window; figure 6 represents a sectional view according to the plane P6 of figure 1, with P6 being a substantially horizontal plane that passes through the boot lid window; figure 7 represents a sectional view according to the plane P7 of figure 1, with P7 being a substantially vertical plane that passes through the lock of the boot lid, and; figure 8 represents a sectional view according to the plane P8 of figure 1, with P8 being a substantially vertical plane that passes through the engine of the rear windshield wiper of the boot lid; - figure 9 represents a sectional view according to the plane P9 of figure 1, with P9 being a substantially vertical plane that passes through the upper part of the boot lid.
Referring in principle to figure 1, it has a boot lid 1 for motor vehicles. The boot lid 1 comprises an upper part 2a which can be substantially inclined in relation to the longitudinal and vertical directions and which extends downwardly through a lower part 2b which can be substantially vertical.
The boot lid 1 comprises a plurality of elements assembled together using one or more of the conventional techniques known to those skilled in the art, which include gluing, screwing, crimping, stapling, riveting, clipping, laser or ultrasonic welding, etc.
These elements, on the one hand, based on figures 1 to 5, include a structural reinforcement 18, an inner lining 42 and a rear window 4. The inner lining 42 and the rear window 4 are fixedly arranged on the structural reinforcement. 18. Likewise, an external decorative panel 6 arranged under the window 4 is fixedly arranged on the structural reinforcement 18. If necessary, 18 additional decorative elements can also be fixed on the structural reinforcement, for example, the baffle 8 located on the rear window glass 4 in this case lid embodiment. These additional elements are used to completely cover the structural reinforcement 18.
The rear window 4 is located at the top part 2a, while the exterior decorative panel 6 is located at the bottom part 2b of the boot lid 1.
On the other hand, cover 1 can integrate a plurality of functional equipment. These equipments are fixed on the structural reinforcement 18. Among these equipments, we can enumerate hinges (not shown) intended for the articulation of the boot lid 1 on the body of the vehicle, a lid lock 10 that allows opening and closing as well as screwing and unscrewing the cover and a rear windshield wiper system 12 comprising a drive motor.
Other equipment (not visible in the figures) can also be provided in the cover 1, such as a balance assembly of the cover 1 that facilitates the respective opening / closing, means of retaining the closing limit switch of the cover 1, intended to retain the motor vehicle body during the closing of the boot lid 1, with the purpose of stopping the respective travel, a video reverse system, elements of the vehicle audio system, rear lights, etc.
The structural reinforcement 18 is carried out in a single piece of polymeric material. Polymeric means materials of the thermoplastic or thermoset type. Note that the structural reinforcement 18 is intended to constitute the entire structure of the boot lid 1, the other elements of the lid having no more than a decorative or equipment function, with the exception of the inner lining 42 as described below .
The structural reinforcement 18 has a geometry substantially identical to that of the lid 1, and in particular the respective periphery 20 is substantially identical to the periphery of this boot lid 1.
The structural reinforcement 18 globally has an upper part 18a that defines a rear window opening 5 and a lower part 18b that extends the upper part in the downward direction of the boot lid 1. The upper part 18a comprises side structures arranged in one part and the other part of the rear and window opening 5, as well as an upper structure arranged over the rear window opening 5.
The structural reinforcement 18 globally features a first frame that involves opening the rear window and a second peripheral frame that is in the vicinity of the outer edges of the boot lid 1. The first frame and the second peripheral frame are hollow. The hollow shapes are oriented towards the inside of the vehicle, that is to say in the direction of the inner lining 42. The hollow shape gives inertia to the part, in order to increase its rigidity and its resistance to torsional and flexing moments, for example. The first frame and the second peripheral frame respectively have a first and a second section. Based on figure 2, these sections can be confused at the level of the side structures and / or the upper structure of the upper part 18a. That is to say that the first hollow-shaped frame and the second hollow-shaped frame can be confused at the level of the side structures and / or the upper structure of the upper part 18a. According to this embodiment, we have a top part 18a in the form of a frame (the top frame) and a bottom part 18b in the form of a frame (the bottom frame) that share the same horizontal side that is substantially disposed at the level of the separation between the upper parts 18a and lower 18b of structural reinforcement 18, under the rear window opening 5 (the upper frame 18a surrounds the rear window opening 5, while the lower frame 18b involves another opening 7).
The first frame that extends along the entire upper part 18a of the reinforcement 18, internally has a window frame 22 that forms a glue strip on which the window 4 can be fixedly mounted. Considering the structural reinforcement 18 in one piece, the window frame 22 is advantageously continuous throughout its respective contour.
In the lower part 18b, the structural reinforcement 18 may have additional reinforcements, for example, two additional reinforcements 24 arranged in X in the opening 7 and that connect the lower horizontal side of the first frame to the lower horizontal side of the second peripheral frame. According to this embodiment, the two additional reinforcements 24 are arranged in the lower frame 18b. Of course, the number and arrangement of these additional reinforcements can be adapted according to needs, without departing from the scope of the present invention.
On the other hand, each of the frames and reinforcements can be equipped with ribs made in a single piece with them, in order to increase the intrinsic stiffness of the structural reinforcement 18. In effect, thanks to the present invention, a structural reinforcement is used where the implementation areas for the functional elements described above can be locally rigidized. These rigidifications refer, for example, to the use of ribs and / or to an increase in thickness. The advantage is that these local rigidifications, although having an impact on the exterior aspect of the reinforcement, are not visible from the outside and inside of the boot lid 1.
The means for fixing different equipment of the boot lid 1 are thus directly provided for in the structural reinforcement 18 of a single piece. These are in particular means for fixing the hinges 30, arranged on the upper horizontal side of the upper frame 18a, locking means 32 for the lock, arranged on the horizontal lower side of the lower frame 18b, fixing means 34 for the wiper motor. rear windshields, arranged on the horizontal side common to the two frames 18a, 18b, with registration plate fastening means 36, arranged at the intersection of the reinforcements 24 and fastening means 38 of the cover balance assembly, arranged on one side side of the upper frame 18a. Preferably, each of these fixing means takes the form of one or more holes in the structural assembly 18, and these holes, whether or not through, are intended to receive complementary fixing means, such as screws or other conventional elements for solidarity equipment.
In figure 1, the monoblock structural reinforcement 18 is not visible considering that it is completely covered on the respective outer side by the rear window 4, the outer decorative panel 6 and the deflector 8, in order to completely cover it. The structural set 18 is not visible in figure 1, considering that from the rear view outside the vehicle, it is entirely masked by the aforementioned decorative elements 4, 6, 8, which advantageously allows it to not abdicate any aesthetic and present an optimized design, entirely dedicated to the respective structural function, to give the necessary rigidity to a suitcase cover of that nature, particularly with the use of a thermoplastic material.
Likewise, the structural reinforcement 18 is completely covered on the respective inner side by the inner lining 42. Furthermore, according to the present invention, the structural reinforcement 18 and the inner lining 42 cooperate to form a first hollow frame, of a first closed section, which surrounds the rear window opening 5 and to form a second peripheral hollow frame, of a second closed section, which is located in close proximity to the outer edges of the boot lid 1. Thus it benefits from a globally closed frame structure on the periphery of the outer edges of the boot lid 1, as well as on the periphery of the rear window opening. This structure gives the necessary rigidity to this type of boot lid 1.
The inner lining 42 is made of a single piece of polymeric material. Figure 3 shows the decorative interior lining 42, the shape of which is substantially identical to that of the structural reinforcement 18, on which it is fixedly arranged. More precisely, it presents a top in the form of a frame 42a whose dimensions are substantially identical to the first frame 18a of the structural reinforcement 18, the frame 42a being extended in the downward direction by a lower panel 42b whose periphery is substantially identical to that of the second frame peripheral in the lower part 18b of the structural reinforcement 18. Thus, the inner lining 42 entirely covers the inner side of the structural reinforcement 18 and also has a geometry substantially identical to that of cover 1, and in particular the respective periphery 44 is substantially identical to the periphery of this boot lid 1. If any openings in the inner lining 42 are necessary, for example to allow access to the boot lid equipment 1, they can be covered by additional interior decoration elements.
The monoblock inner liner 42 may comprise a globally continuous sealing strip intended to cooperate with a vehicle sealing joint (not shown). It is to be noted that the reverse is also possible, in the sense that a sealing joint can be mounted on a peripheral rib formed on the inner lining 42, this joint being able to support itself against a sealing band of the vehicle.
The inner lining 42 thus has three main functions: an aspect function (aesthetic function), considering that the lining forms the inner side of the boot lid 1, that is to say the side that is in the vehicle as soon as the boot lid 1 is closed; a sealing function through the cooperation of the sealing band (not shown) globally continuous with sealing joint mounted on the vehicle, and; a structural function, considering that it cooperates with the structural reinforcement 18 to give the necessary stiffness to this type of cover, within the limit of respect for the respective aspect function that also depends on the type of material used.
The geometries of cladding 42 and structural reinforcement 18 are similar. These two elements are perfectly mounted on top of each other, as shown in Figure 4. Together, they form a closed frame structure on the periphery of the boot lid 1, as well as along the window frame. In other words, the respective peripheries 20, 44, which correspond to the periphery of the boot lid 1 are mounted along these peripheries, in the same way that these two elements 18, 42 are mounted along the window frame 22.
The structural reinforcement 18 and the inner lining 42 cooperate to form a first hollow frame, of a first closed section, which involves opening the rear window and to form a second peripheral hollow frame, of a second closed section, which is in the vicinity of the outer edges of the boot lid 1. According to the embodiment of the structural reinforcement 18 mentioned above, the first closed section and the second closed section can be confused at the level of the lateral structures and / or the upper structure of the opening 5 of rear window.
Said closed sections on the one hand comprise a part of the structural reinforcement 18, and, on the other hand, a part of the inner lining 42, which closes the part of the reinforcement 18.
The structural reinforcement part 18 is hollow, as previously described, whose hollow space is oriented towards the inside of the vehicle and the hollow shape is extended by a connection zone on each side of it. It should be noted that the reinforcements 24 described above can also have this part hollow with a connection zone on each side that receives a part of the inner lining 42.
The inner lining part 42 closes the reinforcement part 18 by fixing it at the level of the connection zones. Continuous fixing is preferred, for example, by placing the connection zones shown in the form of globally continuous strips with corresponding zones of the inner lining 42. This configuration is adapted for a laser welding or vibration assembly process, assembly process in which it is necessary to have surfaces in contact.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures and, in particular, with figure 2, the structural reinforcement 18 comprises 3 "bands"; the first strip is located on the periphery of the structural reinforcement 18; the second strip is located on the periphery of the rear window opening 5, and; the third strip is located on the periphery of the opening 7 formed in the lower part 18b of the structural reinforcement 18, on the inner side of the lower frame 18b.
The mounting examples between the structural reinforcement 18 and the inner lining 42 to form the hollow frames are shown in figures 5 to 9, which represent sections according to the planes P5 to P9 of figure 1. In each of the figures, the structural reinforcement 18 and inner lining 42. Part 25 in the form of a hollow space and connection zones 26 and 27 are also visible in one part and the other part of hollow part 25 of structural reinforcement 18. Connection zones 26 and 27 they form claws or portions of claws that receive part of the inner lining 42. This involves placing the elements, for example, on a surface or against a surface for assembly by gluing or laser or vibration welding. In this respect, the mechanical connections between the connection areas of the structural reinforcement 18 and the inner lining 42 which are only in evidence (see for example figure 9 and figure 8 for connection area 27) or in contact with these areas ( see for example figures 5 to 8) can be chosen from conventional solutions known to the person skilled in the art. In the case where a crimping assembly process is used, the surfaces are not in continuous contact, but in point contact, a process in which a cord of a suitable material is then joined to seal the assembly.
Thus, according to figure 8, it is evident that the hollow-shaped part 25 of the structural reinforcement 18 can also have an opening when necessary, for example to allow the passage of functional elements such as the wiper motor breezes 12. This arrangement can generate sections that are not locally closed in the strict sense of the term, but that are so designed so as not to impair the overall strength of the assembly between the structural reinforcement 18 and the inner lining 42.
In figure 5, it is visible that the assembly of the cover is carried out by the assembly of the outer decorative panel 6 on the second peripheral frame of the structural reinforcement 18 in the respective lower part 18b, presenting dimensions approximately identical to those of this frame to cover it completely in the lower part. 18b.
In figure 9, the deflector 8 is mounted on the structural reinforcement 18, located above window 4. Window 4 is arranged on the frame 22 provided for this purpose, as shown in figure 1.
Figure 6 according to the P6 plane of figure 1 shows the assembly between the elements 4, 18 and 42 of the cover, at the level of a lateral structure of the upper part 18a of the structural reinforcement 18. This also represents a part of the hollow frame of closed section obtained between the set 18 and the cladding 42 (the said section coming from the first section and the second section that are confused in this embodiment), but also the window frame 22 on which it is fixedly fixed in a watertight manner window 4, with the aid of a glue cord (not shown). In this figure, it is noticeable that a wall portion of the structural reinforcement 18 on one side forms the surface of the window frame 22 and on the other the bottom surface of the hollow-shaped part, which allows the rear window glass 4 to be directly attached on the frame formed by the structural reinforcement 18 and the inner lining 42, providing increased rigidity thanks to the glued rear window design.
Figure 7 according to the plan P7 of figure 1 shows the assembly between the elements 6, 18 and 42 of the cover, at the level of the lock 10. This represents the lock 10 fixedly mounted on the structural reinforcement 18 and crossing the latter as well as the liner 42 through the holes.
Finally, figure 8 according to the plan P8 of figure 1 shows the assembly between the elements 4, 6, 18 and 42 of the cover, at the level of the windshield wiper motor 12, and this motor is preferably located in the hollow part 25. This represents the motor 12 fixedly mounted on the structural assembly 18 and crossing the latter as well as the window 4, through the holes.
Of course, various modifications can be made by the person skilled in the art to the invention which has just been described by way of non-limiting examples only. For example in figure 6 or 9, the hollow 25 and connecting zones 26 and 27 could be unfolded so as to distinctly form the first hollow frame surrounding the rear window opening 5 and the second peripheral hollow frame. According to this embodiment which can present a more significant obstacle, each hollow can comprise the respective connection zones on one side and the other and connection zones that are between the two hollows can be confused. Thus, there would also be two mounting strips that involve opening the rear window instead of a single one corresponding to the embodiment shown in the figures.
The boot lid according to the present invention thus has the advantage of being light, approximately 20% compared to a steel sheet boot lid, of having a stiffness expected for the use that is expected without using structural parts complementary in metal, an aesthetic aspect in terms of metal sheet suitcase covers, excellent recyclability (in thermoplastic) and at a cost that does not exceed that of a sheet metal suitcase cover.
